So much of our own misery comes from looking around at what we think other people have and saying to ourselves, “I want to have the money that my friend has,” or “I am not nearly as talented as that person is.” How can we expect to be someone else? We are unique beings and we have our own strengths and weaknesses. Even identical twins are different human beings with different abilities and talents. So the moment we compare ourselves to someone else we lose our individuality and negate our own identity. Then we wonder why life if so painful.
