People have a difficult time with anger. Some people are afraid of their anger. Others feel that is has no place in their lives. On its own merit anger serves a useful function. It helps us define our boundaries, or can prevent others from taking advantage of us. Anger can motivate us to take needed action in our lives and get things accomplished for our self growth. On the other hand anger becomes destructive when we hold it against other people. We think that if we are angry with someone that it has some kind of power over them, that they  will somehow be sorry that they "wronged us." Take a moment to reflect on this. Does the person you are angry with know or even care how angry you are with them? Even if that individual knows that you are angry wit;h them, does it really have any effect on their life? If you believe that your anger is having an effect on the other person's life, can you prove it?

What is the anger doing for YOU personally??
See what happens when you let go of old anger that you have been storing up for a long time. You might be pleasantly surprised

Nothing is ever what you THINK it is…

When you look at the world through your eyes, can you see everything that exits? When you listen with your ears, can you hear everything around you? When you touch something, can you feel everything that is able to be sensed about the object you are touching? Think for a moment and realize that right now there are frequencies of the  light spectrum that your eyes can not see. Sounds are being emitted that your ears cannot hear, you cannot feel the trillions of dust particles slamming into your body at a very high velocity. You cannot feel the multitudes of particles that you are inhaling right now as you breathe. How much of the infinite universe is beyond our ability to even begin to perceive? And yet our brain will tell us that it knows what it knows. It does know what it knows, but only based on the limited amount of information that it has. Be mindful of the messages that it sends. Realize that it may be more fiction than truth.

The difference between CAN and CAN’T is just a “T”. The T stands for three letters…TRY.

Struggle VS. Floating

Our emotions come out of seemingly nowhere. Once detected by our awareness we make a split second judgment, Pleasant or unpleasant? Wanted or unwanted? If it is unpleasant or unwanted we have a tendency to want to make it go away or fix it. To put it more simply we struggle against it. When we struggle it is a lot like being in a pool of water. What many people do not realize is that when they are in water that is over their head, as long as there is some air in the lungs, the water will not allow the body to sink. We can simply lie on your back and breathe easy. The reason people drown in water is due to panic that ensues, the fatigue and the eventual loss of air in the lungs that would keep us afloat. The valuable lesson in this that when confronted with an unwanted or unpleasant emotion, try floating with it.

Listening to our But(ts)

Everyone has heard the saying, “excuses are like a**holes, everyone has them.” I got to thinking more about this and came to realize that while it is true, there is a deeper truth within this thought. When we talk about our goals, dreams, or aspirations sometimes we have a tendency to discount our ability to achieve them. We say things like “I would start my own business but I’m afraid it will fail.” Or I would do that but I don’t have the time. ” These statements are rooted in our unconscious fears.

Notice that each of these statements start off positive and after the “BUT” turn negative. This is what I call listening to our BUT(T). Think about the function of our BUTT. It is the place where we eliminate waste products from our body. The stuff that emanates from this orifice is not edible, not pleasant to look at or smell. So when you find yourself saying “But”, be aware that you are more than likely listening to your very own BUTT trumpet.
